The 2.39:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed digitally and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. Picture quality is very good with a natural appearance throughout. Color fidelity is naturally hued with well-balanced contrast. Hues are rich and warm and nicely saturated. Black levels are deep and shadow delineation well defined. Lighting highlights are naturally intense, The imagery is sharp and clear. Resolution is excellent with fine detail evident throughout including facial features, beards, skin pores, lines, hair, clothing and object texture. This is a natural-looking picture that builds in intensity and surprise. (Gary Reber)
The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack features a dynamic orchestral score with a deep bass foundation and spread that extends to envelop the soundfield. The overall sonics are frontal focused with good spatially integrated dialogue that is impressively intelligible and articulate. Sound effects and atmospherics are not exaggerated and sound natural and realistic. Foley sound effects nicely enhance the realism of the settings. While not a super thrilling soundtrack, the sonics are satisfying and complementary to the storytelling, (Gary Reber)
