In Armed Response, a team of highly trained operatives find themselves trapped inside an isolated military compound after its artificial intelligence is suddenly shut down. The crew begins to experience strange and horrific phenomena as they attempt to uncover what killed the previous team. (Gary Reber)

Special features include the featurette Inside The Minds Of Armed Response (HD 15:33), upfront previews, and an UltraViolet digital copy.

The 1.85:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed digitally. Though there are some very minor image instabilities in the imagery of aerial shots, the picture is dramatic looking due to effective lighting designs, which enhance the sense of mystery and pending danger. The general location environment is dimly lit interiors of the abandoned prison compound. Under such conditions, fleshtones retain naturalness. While there is not much color, the General’s reddish garment is quite vivid, as well as various lit signage throughout the facility. Blacks are solid and shadow delineation is revealing. Resolution is good, especially during close-ups of facial features, pores, hair, beards, clothing, and uniforms and object textures. Overall, this is an effective presentation that delivers an engaging lighting design. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is quite dynamic sounding, with an almost constant fast-paced music score and sound effects enhanced with deep bass extension to sub-25 Hz in the .1 LFE channel. Atmospherics and sound effects are aggressively powerful, extending directionally to the surround channel. The music occupies a wide and deep soundstage and also extends to the surrounds, adding a sense of envelopment. Dialogue is consistently intelligible with good spatial integration. The is a creative sound design with excellent dynamics and fidelity. (Gary Reber)
