When a mysterious illness is linked to an insidious plot to resurrect an old enemy, Cloud (the voice of Steve Burton) is forced to take sword in hand if he's to save the planet once again. (Gary Reber)

Special features include three featurettes: Legacy Final Fantasy VII (SD 06:38), Reminiscence Of Final Fantasy VII original story digest (SD 23:55), and Reminiscence Of Final Fantasy VII Compilation story digest (SD 29:43); On The Way To A Smile—Episode Denzel animated film (SD 28:07); Final Fantasy VII trailers: and a sneak peek at Final Fantasy VIII.

The 1080p AVC CGI picture quality is terrific, with pristine imagery. Colors are subdued, with a soft, warm hue effect. Blacks are inky solid and deep, and shadow delineation is nicely refined. Contrast is excellent as well. Resolution is fantastic and reveals extremely fine textures and facial features in detail. This is a wonderful CGI picture that is impressive throughout and is sure to please fans of the series. (Gary Reber)

The Dolby® TrueHD 5.1-channel soundtrack is nicely produced, with an excellent dialogue track, that while ADR produced, is well-integrated spatially with the scenes. Foley effects are impressive as well and heighten the sense of realism. Other sound effects are directionalized throughout the soundfield, at times, to create a holosonically® enveloping soundfield experience. Bass extension is, at times, deep in the .1 LFE channel to below 25 Hz. The music score is well recorded, with a wide and deep soundstage that wraps into the surrounds effectively. This is a wonderful soundtrack that delivers an impressive sonic experience. (Gary Reber)
