Subscribe FreePerry Smith (Blake) and Dick Hickock (Wilson) were two ex-cons who murdered the Clutter family, a Kansas farmer and his wife and two children. (This time Blake didn't leave his gun in the restaurant.) The Kansas Bureau of Investigators, led by Alvin Dewey (Forsythe), looked into the murders without much help in the way of clues. Meanwhile, Smith and Hickock headed for Mexico, where they became convinced that they had gotten away with murder. After deciding that it was safe to return to the United States, they headed back to the land of the free but were soon arrested in Las Vegas. While under separate interrogation, the two told conflicting stories and were found guilty of murder "In Cold Blood." This true story is based on the book by Truman Capote. (Tricia Spears)
