One band, one sound. That's the motto of Atlanta's A&T University "Drumline." Devon (Cannon) is a confident Harlem drummer whose talent seems to threaten Sean (Roberts), the disciplined captain of the drumline. So you can guarantee that when he learns that Devon can't read music, he will try to use the information to drop Devon and his attitude. A show-style marching band competition is around the corner, and the program director (Jones) has to decide whether to allow the brilliant drummer to perform. And it's up to Devon to prove that it takes more than talent to be a part of the team. (Suzannne Hodges)
