  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Columbia TriStar

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD exhibits a picture that can look generally sharp, with nicely rendered detail, though there are some softly rendered scenes. Colors are nicely balanced with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. Shadow delineation offers satisfying depth and visual information in the darker and more suspenseful scenes. There are a few instances in which film grain or flecks of dirt inherent in the source element are revealed. Minor pixelization is noticed, and, occasionally, edge enhancement can be a problem. (Suzanne Hodges) A modified 1.33:1 version is also included (not reviewed).
