DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits images that are generally sharp and nicely detailed. Colors are rich and well balanced, with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. Many scenes are saturated in a warm golden hue. Contrast and shadow delineation appear to be well balanced. Though not always present, there is evidence of edge enhancement, which can be distracting. Soundtrack:
The multichannel sound mix features a lively, enveloping soundstage with music and atmospheric effects that nicely fill the listening space. The surrounds are typically gentle to moderate in nature, serving to impart the effective element of immersion. The recording of the sound mix is quite impressive, and is often focused around the dialogue. Voices seem abundantly natural with compelling spatial consistency.
