DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced DVD, framed at 2.35:1, exhibits a picture that is generally soft, though some scenes are nicely detailed. Colors are well balanced, with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. Contrast seems a bit low at times, limiting detail. Edge enhancement can be obtrusive, especially in contrast to the soft images. Pixelization is also noticed. At times, the appearance of film grain can seem excessive, giving the picture a gritty characteristic. (Suzanne Hodges)
