Story Synopsis:

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD exhibits pleasing imagery of the concert. Images are generally sharp, with satisfying detail. Colors are well balanced, though blacks appear a bit weak at times. There are some minor distractions in the way of aliasing and pixelization, but fans of Neil Young are not likely to notice. Soundtrack:
The multichannel concert presentation is rather impressive, sporting commendable fidelity and a fully engaging soundstage presence. The music substantially fills the surrounds, and screen-based imaging is quite engulfing. Another notable aspect of the audio is the low-end, which is punchy and palpable, with substantial .1 LFE utilization. The DTS

DVD-ROM Review:
After running the InterActual Player 2 software, you are brought to the DVD-ROM main menu, which has links to Play the Movie, view the Web site, and access the Special Features. Of course, clicking Play Movie will play the concert, which loads quickly and smoothly using the InterActual Player 2 software. Entering the Web site will take you to www.neilyoung.com, where you can find a ton of information about Neil Young's new album. Unfortunatly for us, nothing can be found talking about this DVD, or any other DVD Neil Young has released. You can listen to clips from the entire album online, as well as download videos and mp3s from the new album. In the Special Features section, you can download and install two desktop wallpapers that come in two different resolutions, as well as install a screensaver containing pictures from the concert, or so they say. I tried everything and could not get the screensaver to run properly, which tends to happen with our pre-release DVDs. If the screensaver does not work for you, feel free to email InterActual asking for a working version, as I am sure they would be more then happy to fill your needs. Unless you like poorly composed wallpapers and broken screensavers, I would not suggest trying out the DVD-ROM functions of this disc. This is a truly disappointing release in every sense of the word. (Danny Richelieu)
