DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD exhibits a picture with a pleasing color palette. Fleshtones appear to be accurate, and colors are nicely saturated with deep blacks. Images are generally sharp, but fine details are wanting. Contrast seems a bit low, and the darker scenes lack adequate visual information. Viewing in a completely blackened room is recommended. There is a considerable amount of pixelization noticed, and edge enhancement can also be a problem. The source element is revealing of film grain, scratches, and dirt. (Suzanne Hodges)
