  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Don

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits stylized images to give the picture an unconventional appearance. Director Gary Fleder wanted to stay away from a look that was too glossy or too clean. Blue overtones give the picture a cold, harsh feeling, while the psychiatric hospital often utilizes unsettling greens. Elsewhere in the movie, colors are nicely balanced, with rich hues. While images are quite sharp and nicely detailed, fine details smear slightly, and could possibly be a negative side effect of noise reduction. Edge enhancement is noticed on occasion.
