Story Synopsis:
Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me is David Lynch's prequel to his television series, and concerns the last days in the life of Laura Palmer (Lee), whose body, found floating in a river, was the fulcrum for the television series. (Suzanne Hodges)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture exhibits images that are sharp and detailed, but depth and clarity are lacking at times. Colors are vibrant and well balanced, with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. Contrast seems a bit low, and visual information is limited in the darker scenes. Edge enhancement can be extremely distracting, but pixelization is occasional. The source element is revealing of infrequent artifacts and some film grain. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
The remastered 5.1 soundtracks are both characteristically balanced toward the screen. Voices are spread amongst the screen channels, and their fidelity is somewhat noticeably dated. The low-end presence is rather subtle, yet providing ample deep bass foundation to the music with gentle .1 LFE activity. The surrounds are very subtle for this soundtrack.
