Story Synopsis:
Based upon the book by Joseph F. O
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD picture exhibits images that are generally sharp and nicely detailed. For the earlier scenes in the movie, a soft, hazy appearance adds to the nostalgic look of the time period. Colors are rich and well balanced, with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. At times, fleshtones appear a bit hot, and colors seem somewhat smeared and undefined. There is some edge enhancement and occasional pixelization. The source element is quite clean, with some minor film grain. The black-and-white scenes tend to have a rough appearance with low contrast. (Suzanne Hodges)
