Story Synopsis:
During the Depression "Boxcar Bertha" (Hershey) was queen of the gun toters, a fun-loving love 'em and leave 'em type girl. However, after meeting union man Big Bill Shelly (Carradine), her heart was lost forever. The lovers and their gang made a name for themselves robbing trains, and their antics grew from small time thefts to much bolder robberies. But all good things must come to an end, and Bertha realized all too late that she was not as invincible as she had thought, and life wasn't as easy as she had imagined. Based on characters contained in "Sister Of The Road"
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture has a bit of a dated appearance, but exhibits nicely saturated colors. Images are generally sharp and detailed, though a few scenes are soft or smeared. Some film grain in the source element contributes a gritty texture to the picture at times, but other times, the imagery is solid and clean. There are some flecks of dirt (major and minor alike) noticed as well. Details drop off in the darker scenes, with deep, undefined blacks engulfing any piece of visual information. (Suzanne Hodges)
