DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits a picture that should be viewed in a completely blackened room due to the many candlelit and torchlit scenes. Colors are warm with lots of orange hues by the firelight. Exterior colors are well balanced, with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. Images are generally sharp and nicely detailed, though there is some smearing. The source element is revealing of some film grain, but few artifacts. (Suzanne Hodges)
