    Story Synopsis:
    Newsies is an entertaining, feel-good, high-energy turn-of-the century music and dance movie based on the true story of a courageous group of striking newsboys who stand up against a powerful and unscrupulous newspaper tycoon wittingly played by Robert Duvall.

    DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture exhibits pleasing color fidelity that nicely compliments the early 20th century setting of the movie. Colors are well balanced with neutral brown hues, accurate fleshtones, and slightly weak blacks. Images are sharp and nicely detailed, though some scenes are softly focused or slightly hazy. There is a bit of edge enhancement detected, but nothing that is terribly distracting. There are occasional source element artifacts. (Suzanne Hodges)
