WSR Narrative Review |

Story Synopsis:
"The Fast And The Furious" is loosely based on a Vibe magazine article about street clubs that race Japanese cars late at night. Vin Diesel is Domenic Toretto, the leader of a street gang that is suspected of stealing expensive electronic equipment. Brian Spillner (Walker) is an undercover rookie cop assigned to find the thieves. Posing as a racing team member, he manages to ingratiate himself with the team
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture looks incredible, with images that are sharp and detailed, and exhibiting excellent contrast and shadow delineation. Colors are rich and well balanced, with accurate fleshtones, vibrant hues, and deep blacks. Only a bit of edge enhancement noticed on occasion and a few instances of detail loss, but nothing that is terribly distracting from the visual experience. (Suzanne Hodges)

DVD-ROM Review:
From the DVD-ROM main menu, you are shown pictures of four of the cars from the film. Clicking on any of these cars will bring you to four of the subsections of this title. The sections available are The Movie, The Music, The Culture, The Downloads, and Play Street Racer.Clicking the 1969 Dodge Charger will show you The Movie section, where you can read about the story, view cast and crew biographies, read about the making of the film, and read about the car consultant that helped with the film. Each section is fairly difficult to read since the text viewing section is very small, with a fairly large font. Each cast biography also includes a picture of the actor or actress. The 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse will take you to The Music section. Here you can get a listing of all the songs from the movie |
