DVD Picture:
The windowboxed 1.66:1 DVD is anamorphically enhanced and exhibits animation that should be pleasing for the little ones. At times, images appear slightly soft. Colors are rich and vibrant, with satisfying balance and contrast. There is a slight edge of enhancement noticed, but children are not likely to be distracted by it. That said, the picture should satisfy its target audience. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
The 5.1-channel discrete soundtracks have been very nicely recorded. The sonic presentation overall should please and delight with a welcome sense of immersion and expansiveness, especially across the screen. There is usually a predominant focus of the soundstage toward the screen, but the surrounds do become gently engaged, providing for subtle yet quite effective envelopment. The music is a nice recording and palpably fills the listening space. Dialogue reproduction is noteworthy, with natural-sounding voices and respectable ambience integration with the visuals. This soundtrack does not seem to distinguish itself in terms of the low-end, and the .1 LFE is essentially a non-factor. The DTS
