Story Synopsis:
In Dr. Dolittle 2, the good Doctor (Murphy) is busier than ever. World-famous now for his ability to chat with animals, Dolittle has become a lecturer and physician to people and animals alike. Add to that his responsibilities as a husband and father, and you have one overworked Doc. In the midst of this turmoil, Dolittle receives a summons from his animal friends to save their forest from unscrupulous developers. Spotting a loophole in the legal system, Dolittle devises a plan to find a mate for an endangered bear. Comic mayhem follows as Dolittle and his dog, Lucky, try to play Cupid and teach a bumbling circus bear the ways of the wild. (Suzanne Hodges)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits rich, bold colors that are well balanced, with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. At times, hues can appear somewhat plugged-up. Still, images can be quite sharp, revealing detail into animal fur, human faces, and, at times, into backgrounds. Contrast and shadow delineation exhibit good balance. Edge enhancement is the greatest distraction. (Suzanne Hodges)
