DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a generally satisfying picture, with images that are generally sharp, though finer details are limited. Colors are nicely balanced, with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. Hues are limited for a neutral appearance, with lots of brown overtones. Contrast should be satisfactory, but the darker scenes exhibit little visual information. Details shimmer slightly and there is some pixelization, but there is infrequent edge enhancement. The source element is revealing of artifacts and film grain. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
The Dolby Digital 2.0 soundtrack is big fat mono. When Pro Logic-decoded, the audio is properly placed in the center channel. The audio is just slightly forward-sounding at reference level. Otherwise, the restoration is quite noteworthy with negligible anomalies. (Perry Sun)
