Story Synopsis:

DVD Picture:
Due to a new transfer, the anamorphically enhanced Superbit DVD picture (framed at 1.85:1) looks more detailed and better balanced in terms of color fidelity when compared to the previous version. The picture is slightly darker than the previous version, but the older DVD appears a bit too bright. Viewed alone, the picture looks good, but is not pristine
Soundtrack:
The Dolby Digital 5.1-channel soundtrack, encoded at 448 kbps seems to offer slight refinement in terms of midrange detail over the previous version, encoded at 384 kbps. Compared to the DTS Digital Surround audio, the Dolby Digital version has a slightly punchier low-end presence. However, the DTS soundtrack does exhibit a little more seamlessness in terms of spatial coherence. Otherwise, both soundtracks deliver an energized, spatially active listening experience that is impressive at times. However, there is noticeably limited split surround utilization. Fidelity is just slightly dated, compared to the most current high-profile sound productions. The use of dimension is ample throughout, imparting a palpable sense of immersion. Low-end impact is noteworthy at times with some .1 LFE activity. (Perry Sun)
