Story Synopsis:
Based on the novel by John Farris (who also wrote the screenplay), The Fury follows his horror hit Carrie with another psychological thriller about the powers of telekinesis. Includes a still gallery filled with publicity material. After surviving a horrifying terrorist attack, Peter Sandza (Douglas) emerges from the dust to discover that his close associate staged the attack to kidnap Peter
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a dated picture, with images that are sharp and nicely detailed. Colors are well-balanced, and characteristic of the decade in which the movie was filmed. Contrast and shadow delineation are nicely rendered. Edge enhancement is apparent at times, and there are occasions in which shimmering details and pixelization are noticed. The source element is revealing of dirt and film grain, which gives the picture a slightly rough appearance. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
The Dolby Digital 4.0 remastered soundtrack, with inherently compromised fidelity, delivers sometimes adequately in terms of dimension. There is often a bias toward mono, however, and multidimensional coherence is limited due to the nature of the inconsistent soundfield. The music is the primary multichannel element, though there is also a balance toward the screen. Deep bass is inherently constrained. (Perry Sun)
