    DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a generally pleasing picture, with images that are sharp, though finer details seem slightly smeared at times. Colors are nicely balanced, with accurate fleshtones, rich hues, and deep blacks. Contrast and shadow delineation are satisfactory. Edge enhancement is quite prominent, and there is occasional pixelization. The source element is revealing of film grain, minor dirt, and artifacts. While the picture is quite pleasing, it lacks a spit-shined appearance of newer DVDs. (Suzanne Hodges)
