The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture is generally sharp, with goods detail, though clarity and definition are wanting. Colors are nicely balanced with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. Edge enhancement is quite obtrusive, and there is some pixelization. Source element dirt and artifacts are noticed throughout. (Suzanne Hodges)
Reason #71 Why Readers Love Widescreen Review:
Before reading WSR I was an electronics nebbish. After reading WSR for more than a year, my friends and family consult me on purchasing TVs, sound systems, DVD players, and DVDs. I explain to them the differences between HDTV ready and capable, how to select a TV, DVD, and sound system and recommend that they become an expert like me by buying a copy of WSR. My life has new meaning!
