This is the third DVD release of The Silence Of The Lambs. This Special Edition includes Inside The Labyrinth, a new documentary that addresses just about every aspect of the filming of the movie, 22 deleted scenes, the original 1991 featurette, an outtakes (bloopers) reel, still gallery, booklet, a recording of Anthony Hopkins somewhat in-character as Hannibal Lechter that can be used for your answering machine recording.
Story Synopsis:
Based upon the novel by Thomas Harris, director Jonathan Demme has crafted a haunting psychological thriller that begins when FBI cadet Clarice Starling (Foster) is sent to interview imprisoned killer Dr. Hannibal
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture exhibits improvements in depth and definition over the previously released non-anamorphic DVD (Issue ##). The picture exhibits nicely rendered sharpness and detail, with good contrast and shadow delineation. Colors are well balanced and accurately rendered. The picture still occasionally appears smeared, and the appearance of edge enhancement creates a hard edge that can be obtrusive. (Suzanne Hodges)
