Reason to watch Maximum Overdrive: AC/DC music. Reason not to: Everything else. Rookie director Stephen King
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits images that can be slightly soft, but with nicely rendered detail. Colors are well balanced and fully saturated, with accurate fleshtones, and deep blacks. Contrast and shadow delineation are quite pleasing, though the picture is wanting in definition at times. Edge enhancement is rarely a factor. Minor source element artifacts are apparent, but overall, the picture is quite clean. (Suzanne Hodges)
Reason #60 Why Readers Love Widescreen Review:
I feel the picture/sound reviews are very accurate. The reference systems are awesome. The WSR staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The on-line version of the magazine is a great reference tool. It is the most technically advanced home theatre magazine out there. If you consider yourself a serious home theatre buff, you should subscribe! It doesn't get anymore cutting edge than your Reference Holosonic Home Theatre Laboratory. Gary Reber has the coolest job on the planet!
