  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
With the best real on-field football action since Varsity Blues, Any Given Sunday stars Al Pacino as Tony D

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced DVD exhibits the same excellent quality as the DVD reviewed in Issue 42. The most impressive aspect of this anamorphically enhanced 2.40:1 DVD is the incredible clarity displayed throughout the picture. Somewhat distracting is the exaggeration of hues, but balance throughout the color scheme reflects the stylized vision of director Oliver Stone and DP Salvatore Totino. Fleshtones can appear quite orange at times. Taking the color stylization into consideration, the picture exhibits beautiful quality with no major distractions of any kind. (Suzanne Hodges)

Soundtrack:
The Dolby

DVD-ROM Review:
From the main DVD-ROM menu, you are given the option to view the film by selecting Play Movie, or go to the DVD-ROM features by clicking Playbook. If you insert disc one, you are given two new options, Special Online Events and Sound hits. Also, there is a caption labeled Other Features on Disc Two. On disc two, sections titled Grid Iron Challenge, Script To Screen, Virtual Edit Suite, Scoreboard, and Original Theatrical Web site are available for your perusal. The same Warner Brothers online event Web site is brought up after clicking the Special Online Events link, and is still not updated. The entire site revolves around The Matrix as it did over a year ago. I agree it is a great film, but they must have some new material since then! In the Sound Hits section, you can find a listing of the songs that are on the Any Given Sunday soundtrack, as well as a link to Atlantic Record's home page where you can purchase the compact disc. You must have an Internet connection established to view this site. The Grid Iron Challenge is a football trivia game, which gives you a peak at the Sharks
