Story Synopsis:
Krull is a classic and epic fantasy adventure about the extraordinary perils faced by a brave Prince (Ken Marshall) on a dangerous quest to rescue his beloved Princess (Anthony) from the evil clutches of the Beast. A magical world of a one-eyed Cyclops, a monstrous spider, an insidious Changeling, the unearthly Firemares, and an army of alien Slayers provide an imaginative trip into another world.
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture is much more defined when compared to the LaserDisc reviewed in Issue 11. Colors do not appear as oversaturated as on the LaserDisc, with hues exhibiting good balance, accurate fleshtones, and deep blacks. Pixelization is noticed at times, as is edge enhancement. Contrast is very good, with many exterior scenes appearing quite natural. There are some minor artifacts scattered throughout, but nothing that is overly distracting. (Suzanne Hodges)
