Story Synopsis:
If you can

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.55:1 DVD exhibits a satisfying picture for its age and considering its extensive restoration as revealed in the extra features section of the disc. The generally sharp images exhibit good color fidelity. Hues are rich, with good balance, though fleshtones can seem a bit orange at times. Artifacts, scratches, and film grain are inherent in the source, but the restoration has cleaned up the picture remarkably. There is some apparent edge enhancement, but there are many scenes free from its distraction. (Suzanne Hodges)

Soundtrack:
The Dolby Digital 4.0 soundtrack provides for an entertaining, pleasing listening experience, and should also provide for much of the glory of the original CinemaScope stereophonic audio. The music has been nicely spread across the screen, resulting in imaging that is panoramic and engaging. When utilized, the surrounds provide for ample envelopment with the music. Otherwise, the screen channels carry the majority of the soundtrack, with quite directionalized dialogue that is also spread across the screen. Background hiss is noticeable but should not be distracting. This new soundtrack should be a satisfying and entertaining experience. (Perry Sun)
