DVD Picture:
The non-anamorphic 1.66:1 DVD exhibits subtle, yet noticeable differences in the vibrancy of color and smoothness of the picture, when compared to the previously issued non-anamorphic DVD. Colors are bold and vivid, with good balance, and deep blacks. Fleshtones are generally accurate, though a bit reddish at times. Images are generally sharp, with good detail, contrast, and shadow delineation. Still, there are instances in which fine details shimmer slightly, and some pixelization is detected. Occasional source element artifacts are noticed, and the appearance of film grain is limited.
