Includes liner notes and an extremely revealing interview with director Koji Wakamatsu, who began his career as a Yakuza gangster whose job it was to oversee the production of films controlled by the mob.
The anamorphically enhanced, windowboxed 1.66:1 picture is presented in both color and black-and-white imagery. The black and white scenes exhibit a generally good gray scale, with generally deep blacks and bright whites. The color scenes exhibit hues that border oversaturation. The picture is somewhat flat and wanting in definition. Source element artifacts and print scratches are apparent. (Suzanne Hodges)
Reason #22 Why Readers Love Widescreen Review:
I read Widescreen Review because it gives you the most recent reviews on AMPS, SPEAKERS, and DVDS, etc. Some of which are not available in the U.K at the time of publication. I enjoy your reviews of recently released DVDs. I am a keen fan of your magazine. Thanks for a great magazine.
