DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD exhibits a nicely rendered picture that is a little on the soft side throughout, with fine background details suffering. Still, despite the soft focus, the picture is beautiful with rich colors, natural fleshtones and deep blacks. The darker scenes are well rendered, with an excellent gradation of visual information. Some of these darker scenes are very "loverly" with Hewitt's Hepburn nicely portrayed. Other than the soft character (which some may not find bothersome), there are no distractions for a pleasing picture throughout.
