    Compared to the LaserDisc reviewed in Issue 24, the anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits improvements in sharpness and color fidelity. Images are sharp, with nicely rendered detail. Colors are well balanced, with generally accurate fleshtones and deep, solid blacks. Edge enhancement is noticed throughout, but is generally minor. Pixelization is occasionally detected. Fine film grain and source element artifacts are evident. (Suzanne Hodges)
