    Story Synopsis:
    Heavy Metal 2000 recreates the feel of the original cult classic with an updated look for the new millennium. The peaceful planet Eden has been destroyed by space pirate Tyler (Ironside) after he gets his hands on the key to the chamber of immortality.     DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD is quite good. Images are sharp and finely detailed throughout. The animated colors are rich, with full saturation and excellent dimension. I found myself occasionally distracted by edge enhancement, but even more so by backgrounds that had an unsightly grimy, grainy appearance. Thankfully, these scenes do not make up a majority of the image quality; so overall, the picture is pleasing. (Suzanne Hodges)
