Story Synopsis:
Runaway is writer/director Michael Crichton
DVD Picture:
Anything would be considered an improvement over the poorly contrasted, greenish LaserDisc picture reviewed in Issue 11. Viewed alone, the anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits nicely rendered visuals that are sharp and detailed. Colors are rich and well balanced, with accurate fleshtones, vibrant hues and deep blacks. The picture is quite solid, though a little dark. Minor pixelization and edge enhancement are apparent, but generally are not distracting. Overall the picture is quite pleasing, especially for its age.
