    Story Synopsis:
    Steel Magnolias is based on the play by Robert Harling (who also wrote the screenplay), and is also loosely based on incidents in his own family. Sally Field is M

    DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits pleasing quality in all aspects. The picture is bright, with vibrant hues throughout, though certain scenes exhibit minor consistency problems. Images are sharp, with good shadow delineation and contrast. Fine film grain is noticed. There are no major distractions in the way of pixelization or artifacts, for an image that is quite solid, though occasionally wanting in dimension.
