DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits a dated picture that is nicely rendered with full saturation throughout the color scheme. Sometimes hues appear a bit over saturated, with brownish fleshtones and exaggerated hues. Images are generally sharp, though fine detail and definition are wanting at times. A few scenes exhibit enhanced edges. Occasional aliasing problems are evident, as is pixelization for a picture that is mediocre overall, but generally pleasing for its age. According to the restoration demonstration in the special features, Criterion used Mathematical Techologies
