  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Young Harold (Cort) is obsessed with death. He delights in shocking his oh-so-snooty mum by faking suicides and driving a hearse. Senior citizen maude (Gordon) is high on life, finding joy and wonder in every situation...she also steals cars. After their chance meeting at a stranger

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD brings the 1971 Harold And Maude a little more up to date. The picture is sharp, with good contrast and shadow delineation. Colors are dated, but nicely balanced with generally accurate fleshtones and pure blacks. Artifacts are apparent throughout, as well as minor pixelization. Overall, though the picture will surely delight fans of this classic dark comedy.
