DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced DVD viewed in component video exhibits digital compression artifacts throughout. Though images are sharp and detailed, with good vertical and horizontal resolution, clarity is often compromised by the consistent digital noise throughout. Color fidelity is naturally rendered, with generally natural fleshtones, vibrant, fully saturated colors and deep blacks, though interior scenes can sometimes appear plugged-up. Contrast and shadow delineation are nicely rendered, though sometimes wanting in better visual information in the darkest scenes. There is a slight darkness that appears unnatural, even in exterior scenes
