    Story Synopsis:
    When a satellite crashes to Earth, an entire town, except for a baby and an old man, are dead within hours. An alien bacteria has hitched a ride on the crashed space junk, which threatens the world's population. The clue to defeating The Andromeda Strain of alien bacteria lies within the two lone survivors of the town. Now a team of first-rate scientists must isolate themselves in an underground laboratory, while they attempt to find a vaccine, before the deadly disease wipes out all of mankind. Based on the novel by J. Michael Crichton.(Stacey Pendry)

    The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD has deep, consistent black levels, but the near-black shadows can appear crushed, limiting the shadow delineation some. Fleshtones appear natural and nicely balanced, and other than whites occasionally blooming, contrast is balanced nicely as well. Color saturation is adequate, but greens can look unnaturally pale.
