  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
When the patriarch of an eccentric English family unexpectedly dies, it is up to his decent, well-mannered son Daniel (MacFadyen) to arrange a dignified send-off. But when a string of calamitous events befalls the clan that has more than a few skeletons in their closet, the funeral service spirals out of control. Every unimaginable complication arises, from the accidental consumption of a hallucinogenic designer drug by one guest, to a dwarf (Dinklage) claiming to be Daniel

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.82:1 DVD shows elevated black levels and generally has a washed-out, hazy appearance. Shadow detail is nicely delineated, though, which can give the images a somewhat dimensional-looking appearance. Details can be nicely rendered at times, but there are moments when the picture looks relatively soft. Colors have a pale appearance with fleshtones looking somewhat pallid. Occasionally faces look overly pink, though. Pixel breakup can be recognized from time to time, and edge enhancement is noticeable. (Danny Richelieu)
