The relationship between the Emperor (Yun Fat) and his Empress wife (Li) is anything but a happy one, partly because of an affair between The Empress and her stepson Crown Prince Wan (Ye). The Emperor orders the Imperial Doctor (Ni Dahong), whose daughter Chan (Li Man) is also in love with Prince Wan, to poison his wife. And the couple's faithful son Prince Jai (Chou) soon begins to worry about the Empress's failing health and her obsession with chrysanthemums. (Tricia Spears)
