Story Synopsis:
When Kay (Baldwin) is kidnapped by The Snow Queen, it is up to his good friend Gerda (White) to rescue him from her icy grip. And, along the way, Gerda learns about faith, love, and courage. Combining live action and animation, this stylized Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale is a good choice for the entire family. (Jack Kelley)
DVD Picture:
The jutter motion of the anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD picture can be distracting, although the animated cadence combined with the live-action actors and animated sets makes for a unique experience. Colors are muted, often looking monochromatic, and details are not recorded well. (Danny Richelieu)
