  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Attempting to make a big Hollywood comeback, an aging actor (Freeman) ventures far from his privileged lifestyle in Brentwood to the poorer outskirts of Los Angeles in order to do research for his upcoming role. However, when he is abandoned by his driver, he turns to acid-tongued Scarlet (Vega), the 10 Items Or Less checkout clerk at the local market, to help him get back home. (Jack Kelley)

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD can have an overly contrasted look outdoors, with bold, well-balanced colors. There are times when the image can have a flat, digitized look, with hard, pixilated edges that do not look natural. Fleshtones can look plugged up at times, and fine detail is not delivered with much consistency. Edge enhancement is noticeable throughout. (Danny Richelieu)
