Story Synopsis:
Diane Arbus (Kidman) didn't realize how unhappy her life was until she met Lionel Sweeney (Downey Jr.). From the moment she lay eyes on the masked stranger, she was drawn to the hairy beast, letting her obsession for him become more important than anything else. Fur: An Imaginary Portrait Of Diane Arbus is a film that invents characters and situations that reach beyond reality, in tribute to the photographer, and it is inspired by the book Diane Arbus: A Biography by Patricia Bosworth. (Tricia Spears)
DVD Picture:
While fine detail resolution in the anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD can be wanting, resolution is generally adequate. Fleshtones and contrast are well balanced, and black levels are adequately well rendered. Shadow delineation can be lacking, however, as darker scenes can look very flat. Edge enhancement is not overly intrusive, and pixel breakup is very rare. (Danny Richelieu)
