  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Looking for a way to escape his overbearing, Bible-thumping mother (Linney), 17-year-old Ben (Grint) takes a part-time summer job as an assistant to widow Evie Walton (Walters), a once-famous English actress. Enjoying the carefree and often eccentric manner of his employer, he is eager to take her to Edinburgh for a poetry reading, allowing him to get some much-needed Driving Lessons. But this trip is in direct disobedience of his mother

DVD Picture:
With natural contrast and well-defined fleshtones, the anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD generally looks good. Colors, greens especially, can look oversaturated, and while black levels are not incredibly deep, details in the shadows are captured well. Edge enhancement is generally minor, although it can be noticeable on the higher contrast transitions and long shots. (Danny Richelieu)
