  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Body Double is an erotic suspense thriller from Brian De Palma about a down-on-his-luck actor (Wasson) who house-sits for a new actor friend. The house is situated with a telescopic view of a beautiful neighbor woman (Shelton) whom he watches every night through her open windows as she dances erotically. He follows her and they meet in a moment of romantic bliss. When he witnesses her brutal murder, he becomes obsessed with the mystery of the crime and becomes entangled with a crucial link to the murder in the form of porn queen Holly Body (Griffith). With her help, he pursues the killer.

Even though the original DVD release looked good, the anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD picture cleans up some of the compression artifacts, making it look much less digitally harsh. Colors are still well rendered, with accurate flesh tones and rich warm colors. Details are slightly better resolved in this release as well. (Danny Richelieu)
