    Story Synopsis:
    Horror writer Mike Enslin (Cusak) is renowned for debunking infamous paranormal events and steadfastly believes in only what he can see and touch. His belief that the afterlife is a man-made notion to provide false comfort for the weak-minded is challenged when he checks into a purportedly haunted hotel room and experiences supernatural occurrences. Confronted with the undeniable proof of an afterlife, Mike feels he has material for his next best-seller...if only he can survive his stay in room 1408. Adapted from a Stephen King short story.
