Story Synopsis:
Ralph Compton (Hoult), growing up in British-controlled Swaziland, has quite a lot on his plate. The product of an adulterous mother (Richardson) and an alcoholic father (Byrne), he is sent away to boarding school after his mother abandons the family, only to return home to learn his father has married an American stewardess, Ruby (Watson). Adjusting to his new home situation proves difficult, but with his passion for acting and new-found romantic interest
DVD Picture:
With milky gray blacks and pallid fleshtones, the anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture can look flat and sickly. Details are generally well resolved, although it is not consistently so. Pixelization can be a problem, and edge enhancement is recognizable throughout. (Danny Richelieu)
