Story Synopsis:
Who would have thought that such a pretty, conservative young lady would grow up to be known as The Notorious Bettie Page (Mol)? After leaving her home in Tennessee for New York City, Bettie got to work on her new career. Modeling for a photographer on the side, her part-time job became full time, and before she knew what was happening, pin-up Bettie found herself at the center of a pornography scandal. DVD Picture:
Although the black-and-white anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 presentation shows adequate gray scale gradation, whites can be blown-out, creating a halo effect around subjects in brightly lit scenes. The deeper shadows can be slightly flat as well, with the fine detail all but removed. Edge enhancement and pixelization are not a problem. Later in the movie, it switches to full color, with dated color fidelity that matches the period well. (Danny Richelieu)
